Advanced Training Completed

Eight Cockrell Hill Firefighters have completed the S-131 Advanced Wildland Firefighter training required by TIFMAS for wildland deployment under the state wide mutual aid system. The Department will now have eleven members certified at the Basic Wildland level and eight certified at the Advanced Wildland level.

City of Cockrell Hill Monument

The City of Cockrell Hill will be receiving the first monument to the Fallen Immigrant from the Federation of Clubs Zagatecanos of North Texas. Training

Nine members of the Cockrell Hill Fire Department have completed the TIFMAS required S 130/190 wildland firefighter training. This training is required for any state wide mutual aid deployment within the State of Texas.

Grant Award

The Cockrell Hill Fire Department has been awarded a grant from the Texas Forest Service for 18 sets of wildland firefighting gear. This grant was submitted earlier this year by Chief Michael Burns. This grant will help replace the previous wildland gear used by the Department during its last three TIFMAS wildland deployments.
